For the first time since we were in Birmingham, we are now on a piece of canal that we haven’t previously travelled on in RUNE, the Erewash Canal. After our spell on the River Soar it is quite a bit shallower so we are travelling slower, not that we’re bothered.

There was quite a bit more wind today although it was generally behind us so didn’t cause too much problem. The only place where we were affected by it was as we left the River Soar, crossed the River Trent and entered the entrance of the Erewash Canal, it was quite breezy there and it was a case of steering North West but travelling North.

It’s not a particularly good photo but I think the plane in the picture is a Spitfire, judging by the sound it was making as it flew overhead.

Possibly a Spitfire??
